“Dave Navarro” is a genre. As in, “Did you see Zach's jeans? They're quite Dave Navarro.” Or “I tried checking out that new bar over on 31rst, but it was filled with Dave Navarros.” And nothing is more Dave Navarro than Dave Navarro, who is ODing on Dave Navarro in this new PETA ad. Seemingly unaware that 1998 ever stopped happening, Dave trotted out his nipple rings, artfully trimmed and dyed goatee, and carefully chipped black nails in the name of saving the poor minks, because if old society ladies who wear stoles are going to listen to anybody, it's going to be a dude with tribal tattoos who played at Woodstock ‘94.
